A support role that really matters
Can you build a connection with anyone, regardless of the circumstances?
Can you deescalate a tricky situation and move on with your day?
Do you have experience supporting people with compassion and confidence?
We are looking for two people to help a young man with an intellectual disability on his journey towards adulthood. Working as a pair, you will help him to head out in the community, particularly to the beaches and parks that he loves. He responds best to confident and calm people, people who are fit enough to run and play alongside him. He would love a strong male role model, but he likes all people who are clear in their communication and can find the fun in their day.
We are happy to adjust the hours to fit the people we find for the role, but we are looking for two people to work three days per week (Monday – Friday) about 9am –3pm. If you have experience with people with disabilities, mental health or youth at risk, this could be your chance to have a significant impact in a 1:1 relationship that can change this young man’s world. You need to have a full driver's licence to take him out on these adventures. Pay range is $28 -$30 per hour to reflect the skills required for this role.
