Big news for the region as our Dark Skies acknowledged!

Look up tonight! Our Wairarapa skies are filled with epic action and stars galore. The Wairarapa has just received official Dark Sky Reserve status meaning our night sky is among the best places in the world to view the never-ending star filled skies above.
We’re pretty lucky to have an official Dark Sky Reserve right on our doorstep and only an hour’s drive from Wellington.
Although we can all spot the Southern Cross and the Pot, there’s much more to see! Experts at local dark sky tours Milky Way Kiwi, Stonehenge Aotearoa and Under The Stars, can guide you through the sky with telescopes to help make sense of what’s up above. Plus, you can still get star action during the day at the Wairarapa Space Science Centre in Carterton, perfect for the whole family.

With Wings Over Wairarapa in February and the Wairarapa Balloon Festival on it's way the sky's the limit!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
