Community CPR Training - Learn CPR, Save a Life

Lucy from Carterton District

COMMUNITY CPR TRAINING
Weds 21st Sept 1-3pm
Learn CPR, Save a Life.

Did you know that every week on average, six people suffer a cardiac arrest somewhere in Wellington and Wairarapa.
"The best way to increase someone’s chance of surviving is for everyone in our community to know how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Almost 1 in 3 cardiac arrests happen in a public place and performing good CPR increases the chance of survival. When combined with use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), survival rates can increase to 80%."

Ka Pai Carterton is supporting the Wellington Free Ambulance to bring their Heartbeat Community CPR training course to our community on Weds 21st Sept from 1-3pm.
The course is fully funded but is limited to 30 people, so please book your spot by emailing hello@kapaicarterton.nz

Our intention with supporting the delivery of this programme is to ensure community has the capability to use defibs effectively and then map defibs already in the community, identifying and prioritising where they should be and work towards having these installed.

More info on the course available here:

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
