Seeking a group to drive our Onerahi Community-Lead Projects
Kia ora koutou,
This is an open invitation for keen individuals or groups to put their hand up to drive the Onerahi 'Community Lead Projects' (CLP) initiative.
The lead CLP group needs to:
👨👩👧👦 be able to meet online regularly
👨👩👧👦 be diverse and inclusive
👨👩👧👦 be able to demonstrate wide community support
👨👩👧👦 have the time and energy!
👨👩👧👦 be able to engage with and motivate the wider community
👨👩👧👦 consider the needs and wishes of local residents
Funding is not given directly to the lead group, however it is administered by Council on your behalf.
To recap: the lead group can be an existing group, two or more groups joining forces, or a bunch of community-mind individuals. If you can demonstrate the above requirements and you're keen to help direct Community-Lead Projects in Onerahi, then please send in an expression of interest in an email to Claire Wilson claire.wilson@wdc.govt.nz by 5pm, Thursday 31 March.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
-
84.6% Yes
-
14% No

1.4% Other - I'll share below
