COVID-19 - Isolating in Apartments INFO
22 Nov 2021 - Ministry of Health’s practical guidances on managing Covid isolation in apartments, complete with a check list and FAQ.
Makes giving building management instruction much easier.
It can never cover every eventuality of living in apartments, but along with all our other good habits & practices (MASK UP everyone!) - creates more certainty & alleviates some anxiety.
Many were keen to know whether apartment residents can expect to be informed if there is a case in their building - the answer to that is 'No', currently at least.
There was a lot of legal back and forth on this issue. Maybe more detail in the next cut of advice.
* Some residents, staff and contractors may be considered close contacts and will also need to quarantine at home. Public Health will advise those individuals directly.
* It is important that residents, contractors or staff member with COVID-19 or their apartment number. This is confidential information and should not be disclosed to others.
Body Corporates and other structures that manage apartment buildings have to ensure the H&S of everyone, while also following the laws around privacy.
It can be a bit of juggling act.
