Greer Twiss Artist Talk this Saturday 13 March 1-2pm
We are very fortunate to have the gallery back open this week, enabling us to share our newest exhibition with you.
In anticipation of Greer Twiss’ sculpture Flight Support for Albatross and its upcoming installation on Devonport’s Victoria Wharf, the artist is exhibiting a series of maquettes and early works here at Depot Artspace.
In the company of these miniatures, an artist’s talk scheduled for Saturday 13th of March will offer a rare glimpse into Twiss’ creative process for each iteration of Flight Support for Albatross.
First installed on Quay Street, the sculpture has undergone a series of changes and will be introduced to the wharf in the coming weeks. This satellite exhibition will provide viewers with further context for the work; how it fits thematically into the sculptor’s decades-long practice, what changes have been made since it was first commissioned in 2003, and why Twiss has embraced the current re-siting as an opportunity to re-design the sculpture.
See event page depotartspace.co.nz/event/greer-twiss/ for more info.
