Dahlia - potted - plate sized flower

Joan from Masterton District

This Dahlia is potted , has come away with its Spring growth and can be eased out of its pot straight into the ground now.
The flower is enormous. About dinner plate size. You can see the size of it by the adult hand holding it.
Dahlias like the sun, and flower through the Summer.
They are a perennial, dying down in the winter and coming away again in the Spring.

Yellow with orange blush .

Thanks for looking.
