Local cat sets a world record
A Whitby cat called Penny has set an unlikely world record.
An international study tracking the movements of domestic cats has shown Penny roamed further from home than any other. Penny roamed an area of 214 hectares, nearly the size of the Zealandia ecosanctuary. The median distance travelled by the cats in the study was 1.3 hectares.

The 77-year-old was last seen by family at the Colonial Knob walkway near Porirua, on ‘The Doctor’ track, around 5:45pm.
He is potentially suffering dementia, and has difficulty hearing.
Graham is around 165cm tall, of slight build, wearing a blue puffer jacket and brown corduroy pants.
