Peach trees, fig, elderberry, red and black currants and grapes for sale
Peach trees: “April White" very disease resistant and has no leaf curl. It produces lots of sweet, white-fleshed peaches, freestone. Harvest march. Self fertile. Price $12-$18 depending on size .
Fig “Brown Turkey” A decidious tree growing to 6m by 6m at a medium rate, which is hardy and low maintenance Not disease prone and does not require spraying. Branches can be trained along fence or trellis in winter when the sap is not flowing. Figs require full sun all day to ripen. $8
Red and Black currants: Enjoy the juicy currants fresh, juiced, or made into jam or jelly. Very easy to grow. Currants loose their leaves in autumn and will sprout again in spring. $8 each
Elderberry Prefers moist loamy soil but grows well in heavy clay.
Very tolerant of pruning, plants can be cut back to ground level and will regrow from the base. It has beautiful white flowers in spring, which can be used to make tea, wine, syrups, fritters and skin lotion, and are good for hayfever, sinusitis and sore throats .
If you don’t pick all the flowers, you will get berries in autumn which contain anti-oxidants and help with colds and flu. $8 each
Grapes: 2 varieties: "Riesling", sweet white wine grape, not seedless, harvest late March
"Iona", hardy, sweet pink table grape. Harvest March $8 each

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
