Poll: Six-story hotel for Taupō CBD

Steph Rangi Reporter from Taupō Times

The Taupō District Council's decision to accept a revised six-story hotel proposal for the town centre was made behind closed doors in its final meeting before last year's local body elections.

An Official Information Act request made to TDC by Stuff asked them to provide the wording of the confidential resolution recording its acceptance of the revised plan.

The release shows the “accept” decision was made by the council on September 24 - more detail can be read here; www.stuff.co.nz...

QUESTION
* How many stories do you think would be acceptable for a hotel in the town centre?

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
