Meaning of essential:Extremely important or necessary
A request to the Essential Businesses still operating:
'If you have success, let others light their candles in it'.
Meaning of selected :Carefully choose as being the best or most suitable.
A message to the businesses that were not selected as Essential and are currently closed:
'Don't forget you're human. It's OK to have a meltdown. Just don't unpack and live there. Cry it out. Then refocus on where you're headed'.
When the Lockdown is over, will you support your local NZ businesses?

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
