COVID 19: Metlink Removes Cash Sales from Buses, Trains and Stations
Because of COVID-19, and for health and safety of staff and passengers, Metlink will remove all cash sales from buses, trains and stations as of Mon 23 March. To encourage train customers to make the leap from cash to EFTPOS, 50% discount on all rail passes in April, May, June. To assist people who do not currently use Snapper, from 23 to 30 March customers boarding a bus without Snapper will be given a Snapper card preloaded with $5. See link:

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
