Community driver mentor programme being brought to Rangiora
A driver mentor programme being rolled out in Rangiora aims to break down barriers for unlicensed drivers.
The Community Driver Mentor Programme, which has helped almost 800 drivers since its inception, will soon be available in Rangiora.
Rangiora area coordinator Julia Graham hopes to enlist the help of 20 volunteers mentors in the area. Each volunteer needs to have held a full driver licence for two years and be willing to have a police check.
Mentors also need to attend a workshop, undergo some in-car training, and be available for two drives a week.
