Would a Night Mayor role help the night time economy in Rotorua?

Hi neighbours - a Rotorua lobby group has called for a discussion on the creation of a Night Mayor role for the city, a move they claim will boost the economy and improve public safety.

The call comes in the wake of an initiative to create safer nightlife, as well as a serious assault at a popular Rotorua bar.

Do you think a Night Mayor role would help enhance opportunities for an exciting, vibrant and safe nightlife? Or do you think public safety would still remain an issue?
