Elderly woman dead after hit and run - can you help Police?

Can you help Police? An elderly woman has been found dead after an apparent hit and run in Whanganui.

The incident occured just before 2am on Wednesday morning near the intersection of Anzac Parade and Helmore St. Anzac Parade is currently closed between Jones and Jellicoe Sts with diversions in place.

Police urge those involved to "do the right thing" and speak to police as soon as possible. They are also seeking any overnight CCTV footage from businesses or residences on Anzac Parade, along with any sightings of the elderly woman in the area prior to the time her body was found.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
