CarePark at 70 Tory Street Wellington
Did you park at CarePark on Monday 22nd April 2019 (Easter Monday)?
When I entered the building, I saw a big sign that said "Flat Rate $6", but when I exited the building six hours later, I was charged $24!
I have been in email contact with CarePark Disputes since that time and they are very firm:
"The $6 flat rate is weekend parking only.
The weekend rate does not apply on public holidays
You would have been charged at the rate of $4 per hour"
To me this is a blatant breach of the The Fair Trading 1986 Act "makes it illegal for businesses to mislead or deceive you, and requires them to make sure the information they provide is accurate, and that they don't withhold important information".
I am sure that I'm not the only person who was deceived re the parking charge on that day! I have filed a complaint with the Commerce Commission. It's not a matter of a measly $18 - it's a matter of misleading advertising and being ripped off!

Buses can be a relaxing way to get home if you have a seat and enough space. However, it can be off-putting when someone is taking a phone call next to you.
