Predator Free Bluff Hill area
I'm interested in setting up a trapping program for the bluff hill zone - target being rodents, mustelids and possums. I'm making contact with a programme started out at Esk valley and will be discussing with Napier City council and HBRC.
This can be achieved but it will be 5 or more years before we see big results.
My aim is to achieve a subsidised programme (for traps) but it's success will depend on co-ordination (I'm happy to do it) and strong community involvement particularly around the perimeter area - at this stage I'm thinking shakespeare/coote up to bluff hill itself, but depending on interest this could stretch to say Milton Rd??
Please contact me if interested - possibly meeting later in May.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
