Three-week lane closure on Saddle Rd
The westbound lane of the Saddle Rd will be closed for three days a week for the next three weeks to allow roadworks to be completed at the Woodville end.
The Saddle Rd, which runs across the Ruahine Range from Ashhurst to near Woodville, has become the main route between Manawatū and Hawke's Bay since the closure of the Manawatū Gorge road in April 2017 due to slips.
Starting from Tuesday, the lane will be closed for roadworks from 8.30am to 2.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, then another three days the following two weeks. There will be no closures on weekends.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
