Public meeting - tracks - conservation - predator free Belmont and Kelson

Jamie from Belmont

Public Meeting: This Wednesday - Hardwicke Smith Lounge, 7.30pm

Hi Belmont, a local group of us that have developed and maintained the tracks, pa site and picnic areas in Speedys Reserve are planning on forming an environmental trust, and we've got a bunch more great projects lined up to progress with community support. These include a predator free trapping group for Kelson and Belmont - more birds in our backyards - and a walking/biking track that connects Waipounamu Drive - Kelson with the top of Hill road via the Belmont Regional Park farmland.

Come along this Wednesday, just to listen, or get involved. If you're keen to do some pest trapping on your property (rats and mustelids) there will be some traps to take away (first in first served). Hope to meet some of you there.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
