Rates Rise for chlorinated water.
NCC estimates that water projects will cost the ratepayers $20 million - there is no plan to remove the chlorine - and NCC is asking for a rates increase of 6.4%. In contrast Christchurch is spending $35 million upgrading their water supply and 98% of their network will be chlorine-free by mid-winter. Christchurch has 146 wells and Napier has only 10 wells. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
