Heavy rain for northern Fiordland, Westland, Buller, The Tararua Range and Mount Taranaki
MetService has issued a severe heavy rain watch for the following locations:
Area: Mount Taranaki
Valid: 8 hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm Wednesday
Forecast: A period of heavy rain.
Area: The Tararua Range
Valid: 14 hours from 9:00am to 11:00pm Wednesday
Forecast: A period of heavy rain.
Area: The ranges of Buller
Valid: 13 hours from 2:00pm Wednesday to 3:00am Thursday
Forecast: A period of heavy rain, with possible thunderstorms. Note, a further burst of heavy rain is possible late Thursday, and the Watch may be extended.
Area: The ranges of Westland
Valid: 12 hours from 11:00am to 11:00pm Wednesday
Forecast: A period of heavy rain, with possible thunderstorms.
Area: Fiordland from Milford Sound northwards
Valid: 7 hours from 9:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday
Forecast: A period of heavy rain, with possible thunderstorms.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)

Baroque Spring Concert, Methodist Centre, Sunday November 24th, 4pm
Taranaki's Baroque Ensemble, 'I Barrochi' will be presenting their Spring concert on Sunday 24th November at 4pm. The programme includes Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.4 with soloists Adam Jasinski (violin), Barbara Mitchell (recorder) and Jocelyn Beath (flute). Students of Amanda Henry will play some Baroque pieces on the grand piano, followed by Soprano soloist Janey Mackenzie singing Bach's Cantata 'Ich habe genug' accompanied by the Baroque Ensemble.
