Father and son attacked while trying to help teenage girl in Auckland
Two good samaritans were left battered and bruised after an unprovoked attack on a quiet Auckland street, police say.
Sergeant Brett Meale said the two men were walking down Mellons Bay Rd in Howick with extended family members when they saw a teenage girl who looked upset around 9pm on November 23.
The man, 43, and his 68-year-old father stopped to check on the welfare of the young woman, who was with a group of mainly teenage males, Meale said. "Without warning the younger man was knocked to the ground and kicked numerous times," he said. More information here.
Anyone with information about the assaults or those involved can contact Sergeant Brett Meale on 021 191 0747 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
