Severe weather warning: Heavy rain and strong gusts for South Island & Central
Heavy rain warnings are in place for most parts of the South Island and Tararua range including:
- Ranges of Buller and northwest Nelson
- Headwaters of Canterbury lakes and rivers
- Westland north of Otira
- Westland south of Otira
- Headwaters of Otago lakes and rivers
- Fiordland
- Southland north of Lumsden
Strong wind warnings are in place for central New Zealand including:
- Marlborough, Wellington and southern Wairarapa
- Canterbury High Country
