Inviting HEALTHY PARTICIPANTS for abdominal MRI & Metabolism testing

Gisselle from Henderson

Inviting HEALTHY PARTICIPANTS for MRI (of the abdomen) & Metabolism testing aged 25-85 (without history of pancreatitis or diabetes) to compare with our pancreatitis and diabetes patients.

WHAT THIS INVOLVES:

During your visit, you will first undergo a 45min abdominal MRI scan to assess your pancreas. This will take place at CAMRI (Centre for Advanced MRI); once completed you will receive a CD with your images. Then we will proceed to our COSMOS Clinic for metabolism testing:
• A small plastic cannula will be inserted in your arm for sequential blood collection
• Your HbA1c, fasting blood glucose, lipid profile, and insulin levels will be measured
• You will then be asked to have a vanilla flavoured nutrient drink every 15min; following each drink we will collect blood samples to run further tests to monitor your glucose metabolism.
• You will also be required to complete a few questionnaires.

All the above tests will be conducted at NO CHARGE to you.
The entire visit will take no more than 3 hours and we will be reimburse you with a $40.00 petrol voucher for your time and participation
Please note: You are required to come fasting – nothing to eat/drink for the previous 8 hours; water is fine and highly recommended as it aids blood collection.

LOCATION and PARKING:

The Centre for Advanced MRI is located within the University Of Auckland School of Medicine, opposite to Auckland City Hospital; underground parking is available – access from Boyle Crescent.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
