What you see.
The trees have all gone in Leith Place.
Revealing a shoddy shopping precinct.
Reducing the traffic lanes through Tokoroa only slows down traffic giving drivers a chance to observe what is on offer.THEY AINT GOING TO STOP.
The only thing that would make them stop is a puncture.
The infrastructure of the CBD is past its use by date as is the SWDC.
We have to have a fresh approach.
We have to think of the people that already live here and we have to encourage them to stay.
Some how we have to encourage people with intelligence and vision into our local administrative body, not just people who would like to move on up ,and move on out.
How we do this I don’t know, but I do know we have not been blessed for a long time with a SWDC chief executive who REARLY cares or has any rapour with our district, and I suspect with his staff.
Let’s hope fate smiles upon us this time and we find someone with empathy and ambition for the SOUTH WAIKATO and in particular Tokoroa.
Fingers Crossed.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
