Congratulations Marsden students!
Anabel Jamieson (Year 10) is one of 40 NZ students nationwide to be offered a place in the Amici Trust Junior Theatre NZ Pilot Programme being run in association with iTheatrics (NY) and Music Theatre International - Australasia. This intensive week-long workshop offers young musical lovers the opportunity to develop a new Broadway Junior title in the professional theatre world, culminating in a staged presentation. An awesome opportunity for Anabel!
Amy Cooper (Year 13) has been awarded The Ministry of Social Development Gold Scholarship ($5,000) for tertiary study through the Eureka Trust for her presentation "TMS - The Mental Health Solution." Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
