Calling neighbours to help victims of Muriwai house fire
A house fire last night in Muriwai has destroyed a local home and left a family with nothing. The Muriwai Fire Brigade who attended the fire on Tuesday evening have created a Givealittle page to help this neighbour and her two sons, aged 11 and 5.
The family was out at the time of the fire and a neighbour was the one to emergency services, as a result the family has lost all of their possessions. The possessions were uninsured and funds raised on the Givealittle page would be to help them get back on their feet.
The money would be used to purchase clothing, bed linen and basic household items for the family.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
