Cat hit by car :(

Ali from Papamoa Beach

Unfortunately there's a cat that's been hit and killed on SH29A, between the Maungatapu Bridge and the new Welcome Bay/Maungatapu roundabout. It's a lovely looking grey and white cat, it's on the left hand verge of the road about 500m before the roundabout. I rang TCC but as it's technically on a State Highway they can't retrieve it. I would have picked it up but didn't feel it was a safe place to stop in the rain with a child in the car. There are houses backing onto that part of the road on both sides so I think there's a good chance it's someone's pet.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
