Bilingual Sessions at Paekākāriki Playcentre
Kia ora Kapiti!
Did you know Paekākāriki Playcentre offers a bilingual session on a Friday/Rāmere?
Especially if, (like me!) you are just starting to learn Te Reo from scratch, it's an awesome and supportive (and fun!) environment for you and your tamariki to give it a crack!
We have the amazing Aimee Porteners on site every Rāmere, she is our Kaiarahi Maoritanga, (our teacher of Maori culture, practices and beliefs) and each week she provides us with tools to help us with our language and engaging with our tamariki.
Even if you belong to a different Playcentre, you're more than welcome to attend our Friday sessions as well!
It's a really brilliant resource to have right here in our neighbourhood, so whether you are fluent and want to practice your Reo, or you're a beginner, or you just want to come and play on Fridays, then come and check us out! If you have any questions, drop us a line at Paekakariki@playcentre.org.nz
And here's a little something to get you started ..Ka rawe! ;)
What's your favourite recipe for courgettes?
Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Paper Shredding
I will be doing a lot of paper shredding over the next few weeks. Is there anybody who would like the shredded paper. I don't know if you can use it for hamsters and other pets, maybe it could go in your compost.
Just let me know if you want some.
The tiger who came to tea
Trays are such a useful item to have in the home – they are obviously great for serving food and drinks, particularly breakfast in bed! Find out how to create your own with Resene wallpaper and Resene Colorwood wood stain with these easy step by step instructions.
