42%-66% Hike In GWRC Rates - Submissions end on 29th
You probably didn't even know about this, GWRC communications have been low-key to say the least but unless we all take a few minutes to make public submissions, we'll all end up paying thousands of dollars more in rates over the next few years. See the attached fact sheet from WAG, please share this with everyone you know who is a Wairarapa ratepayer. Please feel free to ask questions or share information. GWRC ARE HOLDING A PUBLIC MEETING AT GREYTOWN LIBRARY TONIGHT AT 6:00 P.M.., which again, hardly anyone knows about or has been informed about - please get along and encourage everyone else to get along and find out about this massive rates hike and why these costs are being targeted at the Wairarapa, when projects that benefit only Wellington are not treated the same way.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
