Ex-Tropical Cyclone Gita is expected to make landfall on the northwest of the South Island this evening, with warnings of torrential rain and winds of up to 150kmh.
Several schools across the region are closed for 48-hours (check the link to see if your school is closed, as well as the latest on the storm).

Good morning neighbours,could anyone please tell me if a bus or shuttle service runs from Nelson through the Lewis Pass to Hanmer Springs or Hanmer Springs turn off.Thank you.
