Off cuts of fabric
Hello everybody I work as a dressmaker and Vickery Street Kaiapoi I cut off a lot of bottoms from trousers and skirts/dresses are usually throw these out but it seems such a shame is there anybody out there that would like these offcuts they range from 2 inches up to 5 or 6 inches so maybe useful for bags or another use you can have them for free if you want to come and collect The amount is not regular depends how my favourite clients want their work done it has just turned on me there may be somebody out there that would like them for whatever purpose you desire. Please feel free to text me and I can save them then when the bank is full I can text you or if you are passing text me and make sure there is some here I am happy to save for several people I really don’t mind just seems such a shame to throw them out anybody that’s happy to take?

This coming Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand. This public holiday marks when the eight-hour workday and 48-hour workweek became law in 1899. The idea started with Samuel Parnell, a carpenter in Wellington, who in 1840 refused to work more than eight hours a day. Since skilled workers were in short supply, his employer had to agree.
As more skilled workers arrived, employers tried to change working conditions, but Parnell and others kept pushing for better rights. In 1890, Parnell led a Labour Day parade of 1,500 people to promote the eight-hour day. He passed away shortly after, and nine years later, Labour Day became an official public holiday.
