Retraction and apology

Karyn from St Albans

I recently put a post up about something heard about our mayor. I want to apologise with all my heart to the mayor and her three sisters for any harm or hurt caused them as seems they where not true. Turns out was disgrunted workman out to cause problems. I should have made sure all the facts where true before posting. I am very sorry for any pain this caused. It was my mistake for not checking all facts before posting. One thing I have learned is never post anything without checking all facts or in anger. Our mayor is not or has never been involved in anything to do with HNZ homes, nor have her sisters. I asccept all responsibility for the fact that post was wrong and untrue and all I can do is say sorry and always double check facts before posting.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
