Young Achievers Awards Nominations 2017

If you know an inspiring young person between the ages of 13-24 nominate them for one of the Upper Hutt City Young Achievers Awards. Nominations close Friday 7 April.

Expressions Whirinaki Arts Award: Celebrating a person who demonstrates excellence and passion in the arts. This category incorporates all aspects of the Arts and includes (but is not limited to), cultural performance, dance, digital and visual arts, design and theatre craft.

Leadership: Celebrating a local leader who has made a significant contribution to the community.

Resilience: Celebrating inspiring young people who have overcome personal challenges. There will be two awards and two runners up for this category.

Sport: Celebrating a sports man or woman with outstanding talent in their chosen sport who upholds a positive and respectful attitude.

Mayoral Award: The Mayors own award with the winner chosen from all Young Achievers finalists.

Award night will take place on Wednesday 7 June at the Expressions Whirinaki Arts and Entertainment Centre.

Please note: All nominees must be aged between 13-24 years and live in Upper Hutt.

Prime Minister delivering apology

Abuse Enquiry

On Tuesday 12 November, the Prime Minister will deliver a public apology to survivors of abuse in care in Parliament.

You can register your interest to attend the event in Parliament, or if you want to watch it with friends, whānau or a support person you can attend an event at the Due Drops Event Centre in Auckland, Shed 6 in Wellington or the Christchurch Town Hall.
