135 Burwood Hospital - New Brighton bus service Beach Rd detour changes Wednesday 26th October

From Wednesday 26th October the Beach Rd detour will change as Mariehau Rd will not longer be affected due to road works moving further along the road. Buses travelling towards New Brighton will detour off Beach Rd onto Donnington St, Queenspark Dr and Bower Ave back onto Beach Rd to continue the normal route. Buses travelling towards Burwood Hospital will detour off Beach Rd onto Bower Ave, Queenspark Dr and Donnington St back onto Beach Rd to continue the normal route. Bus stops 12081, 18699 and 18261 on Beach Rd will be closed during this time. View detour map attached.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.

In 2022 there were 33 fatal crashes, 245 serious injury crashes, and 590 minor injury crashes where pedestrians were involved.

In these crashes, 34 people walking died, 240 people walking were seriously injured, and 595 people walking suffered minor injuries.
Most injuries occur in the young (5 - 29yrs), then 50+yrs, with the highest number of child pedestrians injured between 2pm and 4pm, followed by 4pm to 6pm and 8am to 10am.
