Lynmore Playcentre celebrating 50yrs!

Lynmore Playcentre will be celebrating 50yrs of quality ECE with an open day and a Teddy Bears Picnic at Lynmore Playcentre Sunday 6th November 2-4pm. The event is open to past and present members and our community. Dress up is optional!

Lynmore Playcentre first opened in September 1966, and in January 1967 it was recognised by the Auckland Association. It was 10yrs before they moved out of the scout hall and other temporary premises and into an old house moved on to a public reserve. Early in 1977 the new building was opened with a roll of 11 children. Lynmore Playcentre currently has 24 families enrolled with sessions running Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
