An email sent by Marvel Health, a Christchurch-based business co-founded by Machi Mannu, said he was coming to Whangaparāoa to give a presentation about “working with the most powerful healer – your own body”.
The email stated Mannu – who does not have New Zealand medical registration – would speak about “useless” surgeries, “deadly” drugs to avoid at all costs and people could book full body health scans.

The 75-year-old, who is legally blind in one eye and has cataracts in the other, can no longer read music due to her poor vision, so she plays all her music by ear.
There was a time Sampson, a retired teacher, believed she would have to give up playing music altogether due to her eyesight, but she said she found her fingers remembered songs she thought she’d forgotten.
When Sampson discovered there was a free piano for the public to play at Britomart Station she began making weekly trips there to play and raise funds for St John in Silverdale, where she lives.

That’s how 18-year-old Asher Goddard described his 2022, as he studied hard enough to attain his goal: earn 45 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and get into the university of his dreams.
And he did it – Goddard got the 45 points, a perfect score, putting him in a very small club indeed: the top 1% of IB students all over the world.
He was one of 18,174 students who did the diploma, and the average score was 30.91 points.
Goddard, who has graduated from Kristin School in Albany, is taking his perfect score all the way to the University of Melbourne to study physics.
Goddard and his family came to Auckland five years ago from Crested Butte, Colorado, in time for him to begin school at Kristin.
