Fill the Bucket - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fill the Bucket?

Fill the Bucket is an SPCA fundraising event where our supporters and volunteers will ask Aotearoa to donate and fill the bucket!

Our biggest fundraising event of the year, volunteers will be out on 30 and 31 May across the country raising vital funds for SPCA. You can donate to Fill the Bucket online at www.fillthebucket.spca.nz.

All funds raised support SPCA in caring for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, and preventing cruelty before it begins.

What is a Volunteer Area Coordinator?

Our Volunteer Area Coordinators are crucial to the success of Fill the Bucket. Volunteer Area Coordinators manage various collection sites in their allocated area.

They will assist the Volunteer Collectors with setting up their sites, dispersing materials, cash handling, assisting volunteers with payment methods, and be the point of contact for Volunteer Collectors on the day.

We will provide our Volunteer Area Coordinators with training and assistance throughout the event.

What is a Volunteer Collector?

Our volunteer collectors are the heart of the appeal. They work in pairs on two-hour shifts at collection sites asking for donations from the public across the country. Without our Volunteer Collectors there would be no appeal!
